Oil palm plantation in South Myanmar conflict zone wreaks havoc on local communities and forests

A new report released by an NGO coalition examines the controversial Myanmar Stark Prestige Plantation (MSPP), which has cleared more than 6000 acres in Southern Myanmar since 2011. It shows how the negative impacts from large oil palm projects are compounded in conflict areas due to weakened governance and displacement of local communities.
